My name is Kathy I have been married to Mike for 36 years we have two
adopted children. We live in a small town in the central North Island of New
Zealand. I was teaching children with spiecal needs until 2000 when I had to
give up work. Our son Scott 32 -hes a teacher- lives in United Arab Emirates
with his beautiful German girl friend Connie, and our daughter Jo 30 lives in
Australia with her delightful Australian partner Brad. She is due to have her
first baby at the end of March. Our first gran child.
I am 59 years young and have had ms for about 20 years. After knowing something
was wrong for 8 years.
We enjoy travel -my husband has a saying "Have wheel chair will travel" poor
dear he is the one that does all the pushing. We have been to Canada, U.S.A a
couple of times and Australia a lot. Our son is getting married in Hawaii this
year so will go there.
I am an artist but my eyes are starting to get very tired very quickly and I
must take breaks every so often.
I also enjoy good wine and good food. Yes I am over weight. But not too much.
We have 2 very spoilt dogs -lab X huntaway- and a pair of turtles.
I look around at so called healthy people who moan and groan about their life
and I feel so lucky. I may have ms but I have a wonderful family and friends who
surport me and what I consider a full and enjoyable life.
I would love to make
contact
with other people with ms. |

| Catnip |
 |
Hi! I call myself Catnip on IRc (and answer to it in RL faster than my
given name). I have been an IRC addict for about 10 years and am an Admin (a
lesser God) on another server. I was DX'd with MS about 5 years ago- never
heard of it till then, but now that I know, I bet I had it for years before
that. I live in Michigan s/w of Detroit, I am 48 and divorced (happily ever
after) and live with my cat and my dog- Mysti and Fara. I am still a party
girl, definately liberal, relapsing/remitting and on Rebif (among other
things....MANY other things). I am a witty (ok, smartass) intelligent
(Associate's in computers) school lunch cook and dog groomer on weekends. I
have MS- it will never have ME. I would love to meet people who understand the
embarassing stuff about MS that my friends ubderstand cause they knew me
before, but are hard to explain to new people- like why I can't go anywhere
without mapping the rest stops and such. Talk to me, I definately am good at
getting a laugh. Usually on purpose, but no guarantees. My web page is
catsmeow.cweb.co.nz, mostly my dog and cat, and friends- not a lot of ME
there. All the better.
Laissez les bon temps roulez!

Hi! Please meet Pats, a beach babe who has let her life go to the dogs.
Pats lives on a South Carolina beach with her husband and two beautiful
doghters (yes, you read that right):Tara (pictured with her mom) and
Bucky.
Pats firmly believes that dogs are the one cure for MS, because her
first symptom appeared when she went away to college and was without a
dog for the first time in her life.
In IRC you'll recognize her by the DOG in her nick; she's usually either
CuteDog or BeachDog. |

| katatonic |
|
Hi... My nick is Katatonic. I am 21 years old. I first came to
#msfriends because of my stepdaughter, Lanni. She is almost 3 years old
and has spina bifida. My real name is Kerri. Lanni's daddy is Mike. Mike
is 23 years old. I really like #msfunchat. It gives me a place to go to
talk about the problems that I have with raising Lanni. The people here
really understand what I'm going through. I have had a lot of support here and
I love every minute I have spent here. I am an elementary education major
and will graduate in May from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah,
Oklahoma. I love cats, unicorns, purple, email, and the internet.
Lanni will be three on October 18. She has a wheelchair that she uses
quite efficiently. She is starting to use her braces and walker to learn
how to walk. This is a great accomplishment considering her doctors said
that she would never walk. We are really proud of her.

Awwwwww - come on Kath - find that pic??! |
That is my real name, to dumb when I first came to irc to know to use a
"handle" lol.. I am female, 38 (and not getting ANY older), married, two
WONDERFUL boys age 17 and 15. I live in the beautiful East Tennesee
countryside, in Oak Ridge Tenn, the "secret city".
I was/am a Nurse even though at present I am not working in the "real"
world. I am a resident nurse to my friends on irc, and a very good nurse too
I might add :) I havent had any complaints about my skills, and I am always
on call... just ask DrTech..or any of my patients :)
I came to irc, purely by chance, have taught myself about pc's since I
have been at home, and I have had some very good teachers and enjoy
learning about both pc's in general and irc.
I have met in person several of the people I chat to on irc, and they
are just as I imagined them to be. I have a new sister, thanks to irc
and I love her dearly, as I do my special friends that I have found,
each and every one must know how much you mean to me, you are wonderful, and
I love you for all you do for me.
Now for a pic, well I had some, but when my puter died earlier this
summer I lost them, so a pic will be coming, first I have to find one
that I like.. rofl then scan it.. that should be easy, I hate all pics
of me..

Kerry |
 |
Hi Kerry, or Kezzer to my
friends, here. I live in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK and
work as a Civil Servant. I have had to reduce my hours though to try to cope
with the constant tiredness that I seem to have these days.
I am 43 and divorced.
I was diagnosed in '93 but felt my first
symptoms in 87, I just thought my laces were too tight when my feet were numb! I
have mild MS which seems to be RR but has never been confirmed as anything other
than mild. I wobble sometimes when I walk and drag a leg now and then so
sometimes use a stick. Apart from that and tiredness and pain no problems. So I
know I am lucky but it doesn't stop me moaning, sometimes.
I love my
cat, music, my computer and the links to the rest of the world. |

(programming, sales, marketing). First computer, relay-cam computer in
1956. He became a societal dropout in 1986, DXed with cpms in 1991. Although
back and forth to Massachusetts (where born, raised, spent life and had
summer home), moved to Florida to overcome MS related impediments, like
cold weather, hills and stairs. Spends much time with Computer (see web
site), Paints and friends on the IRC. . .

| Koty |

I am a 49+ female, divorced and living alone in the beautiful mountains
of far western Maryland (yes, there is a lot more of Maryland past
Baltimore!!!) with fdog, my constant pain in the a** companion, whose
special talents are appreciated (???) by all who know him. I was
diagnosed with primary progressive MS in the summer of 1972, and retired
from my job in Washington DC as a research chemist with Uncle Sam that
fall. Would you trust an MSer with double vision in a research lab with
all those instruments and chemicals? hehehe
After a series of personal
and professional changes, including two marriages and divorces, I ended
up back in my home area with an additional degree in accounting, working
as a paralegal and accountant for a small law firm. Fifteen years
followed, and I again retired - this time for good - and now spend much
of my time on my computer, talking to my friends and playing an endless
series of games.
I am determined to live my life doing everything I
possibly can, so try to travel and see as much of the country as time and
finances permit. One of the real joys of my life has been the
opportunity to get to know my cyber-friends, and the trip to Connecticut
and the chance to meet many of them for real was one of the highlights so
far of this whole experience. The people I have met on IRC are truly the
best friends I have ever made, and I love each and every one of them.

taking web instruction on a variety of topics. There is SO much out there!

Diane is 49 (forever, I might add), and has chronic progressive MS. She
lives in central New Jersey (Joisey to some of you :)) with Bob her husband. She has a son, Brian, who lives in NYC. Now that
MS has taken away her oilpainting and other activities, she spends time
talking and meeting with people on IRC who have become very special friends
and a newly found cyber family. She has met many of her friends in person
and the warmth that she feels on irc is even deeper when meeting in "real
life". Highlight of this year was meeting her fellow BRATS in Connecticut
(and you know who you are!). She is a firm believer that "laughter is the

Rob, dx'd in '96 with PPMS. My new doc (Ken Lo) at the Veteran's Administration

I'm now divorced, living with cookie, her son Aaron and Max, the world's

I have started a new job as secretary to the lead planner of the
Baltimore County Planning Office and the work is interesting to say the
least. I have gotten to know what is involved in the concept and
development of a county and am amazed at all the work and planning that goes into it.
I love horses, the ocean, and of course writing poetry whenever given the
opportunity. I have recently been honored by being inducted into the
International Society of Poets Hall of Fame.
I especially love my three children, Justin who will be going to college
in the fall, Heather who will be taking cosmetology in VoTech in the fall
and of course my little "Wildchild" Tyler himself who is a very, very
active 3 yr old.
I love my friends also on channel and truly admire them for the wisdom,
courage and friendship they have shown me. They have shown that
friendship knows no boundaries, is selfless and is truly a gift that one
can cherish a lifetime. Friends are definitely a present you give
yourself, and I am so very lucky to have found all of you.

| Wexler |
|
Hi it's Teresa aka wexler! I found IRC about 6 months after I was
diagnosed with MS. I had my first major attack on my boyfriend's
birthday, July 22, 1995. So needless to say I won't ever forget that date
again.
I am the resident IRC dentist also. I practiced in East Tennessee for 16
years in private practice until November of 1995. Now I give out free
advice and everyone still says they hate dentists, while all along I
thought it was just because they had to *pay* for my advise. Now that
it's free they still don't like it, just ask Techie or patti`!!!!!!!! No
wonder dentist's have a complex!!!!!!!!!
I now spend my time with my boyfriend of 4 years, Dick Pleasant and we
have a new addition to our family a precious little (well not so little)
Ragdoll Cat, Misha. She is so pretty and so much company. "A Home without
a Cat is just a House!" Dick has 4 children and 8 grandchildren so things
can get quite hectic when the kids are home! That is little Kalli Tucker
in the photo, she has Cerebral Palsey, and is a little angel from above.
I love spending time surfing the internet, and learning more and more
about computers, as my first one was after my diagnosis. The friends I
have met on IRC and in the internet Forums are the very best friends in
the world. I have met several and they are the best of the best!!!! I
look forward to meeting more some day soon.
Hope to see you soon in MSFunChat and if you want to see a picture of my
Misha check out my little
website and her two pages are there. It's a
freebie and I don't have much space so don't expect much!!!!!!!!!

36/F/cpms DX: 5/85
54yr.old female. just transplanted
from the frozen north to Houston, texas.(good move) I was dxed in 90 when a
set of strange set of complaints drew me to a hospital bed. 2 years later it
was ms to chronic progressive. I then moved from Florida(worked for Walt
Disney) to Maine. I had some relatives there. Well, that move was good at
the time but after a year, I knew I was isolated and stuck at the time.
Dizzy Mouse rescued me by inviting me to live with her(great move). Now I am
out all the time. I also feel much better and my cat Smokey really loves
it here too. So I'm a transplanted New Englander, to being a Texan.
